Graal Plates

The Graal Plates combine a number of traditional techniques in their production.

First a disk of White Glass is created and cooled to room temperature. A layer of black glass enamel is carefully added and scratched away to create the drawing. The disk is then preheated to around 500 degrees Celsius and attached to a coloured glass tube at the rim. Finally the form is blown and shaped, permanently firing the enamel design to the centre of the plate.
